Civic Events

Brass bands featuring rows of musicians walking in perfect step with one another invoke memories of Memorial Days and other special days in the life of the town.

Opening of the Parker River Bridge, 1930

300th Anniversary Reenactment and Parade, 1935

In May of 1935, the town gathered for the 300th Anniversary of the settlement.  A reenactment of the landing at Parker River was part of the festivities, along with a parade with floats from various chapters throughout the history of the town.
